About Ranjit Kulkarni

Ranjit Kulkarni writes stories that bring humor, wisdom, and reflection into everyday life. He is the creator of the beloved duo Jigneshbhai and Swami, whose coffee conversations transform routine worries into laughter and insight. He is also the author of multiple short story collections, which celebrate ordinary people caught in extraordinary moments.

Born and raised in Mumbai, Ranjit grew up in the bustle of urban India. After earning degrees from NIT Warangal and IIM Lucknow, he spent nearly twenty-five years as a corporate executive with global MNCs like IBM, HP, Lenovo, and Oracle. Along the way, he observed the quirks, struggles, and humor of everyday urban life — the same world that inspires his writing.

Through his collections – from the Jigneshbhai & Swami series to the short stories about everyday life – Ranjit transforms the seemingly routine into narratives filled with humor, reflection, and heart.

Ranjit’s stories are known for their authenticity and relatability, drawing from his keen observations of people and society and a deep-seated fondness of reflection. His work has appeared in national and international literary journals and anthologies, delighting readers with tales that are at once entertaining and thought-provoking.

When not writing, Ranjit enjoys traveling with his wife, exploring spirituality, and indulging his love of reading and investing. He lives in Bangalore, India.
